About Us
Etay Axelroad Dance Project is a vibrant collective devoted to creating and performing cutting-edge contemporary dance works under the guidance and vision of Etay Axelroad. The collective’s mission is to harness the transformative power of dance to foster education, connection and artistic innovation, building a brighter, more inclusive future through movement. With a focus on live and performance art as essential practices of human connection, the project engages audiences and communities in immersive experiences that empower a deeper understanding of the world and our place within it.
Through dynamic collaboration and boundary-pushing creativity, Etay Axelroad Dance Project strives to bridge the gap between artist and observer, cultivating spaces where dance becomes a shared language of discovery, resilience, and possibility.
Etay Axelroad is a choreographer, dancer, movement director and educator . A gaga teacher since 2015. Born in Romania. Recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship.
Worked as a professional dancer with Batsheva Dance Company (and Ensemble), GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, KOR'SIA and L-E-V (Sharon Eyal & Gai Bechar).
Since 2016 has been creating different works presented in various places in the world among Israel, Austria, Hungary, Sweden, Japan, USA, Spain and France.

Joined the prestigious dance company for season 2020/21. Working and online performing (due to Covid 19) pieces by kenneth kvarnström, Honji Wang & Sebastian Ramirez, Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, Continuim (new creation) by Paul Blackman and Christine Gouzelis.
Etay created and performed a solo for schools and created his film “CASUS” and his solo “AZIZTARIN” during this season.
Batsheva Dance Company

July 2017- June 2020
Joined from the ensemble. Working with Ohad Naharin and performing his works; Hora, Venezuela, Decadance, Mamootot, Last work, The Hole, 2019 and more. Was part of “2019” creation process. Was part of “Canine Jaunâtre 3 by Marlene Monteiro Freitas. Toured with the company performing in prestigious venues and festivals such as BAM, Chaillot, Festival Montpellier and many more. Participated in Ohad’s episode in “MOVE” [The NETFLIX show].
During this time Etay Created his pieces: Bias, C2 and A_MeN
Batsheva-Ensemble Dance Company
Israel — Dancer
July 2013- June 2017
Diving into the Batsheva and Gaga world of Ohad Naharin straight from high school, Etay started as an apprentice in his first season, followed by a full contract, learning the Gaga language and performing Naharin’s repertoire : Kamuyot, Project secus, Mamootot, Max, Decadance, Naharin’s Virus, Three and more.
Also was part of a new creation by Daniel Agami “Still” and worked with Sharon Eyal for “Bill”. Worked on “Uprising” by Hofesh Shechter
Took part in the movie “Mr. Gaga” .
During these seasons Etay created “Meshulash”, C.1, Trailer for Mange [Batsheva Ensemble Dancers Create] and a short indie dance video.
